Maidens, Myths and Martyrs ; A History of Disbelief.
Polly Dixon is an artist/printmaker living and working in rural West Wales. Her prints range from strikingly large woodcuts and Lino Prints, to small, intricately detailed Etchings and Collagraphs.
Polly creates illustrative pieces which carry a personal narrative, based on life experience and observations. She is especially influenced by historic artworks and tales of old and likes to borrow and play with characters to bring about new meanings. Animals are a regular feature in her work, which are usually adorned with a touch of humanisation. Her work carries an intriguing dialogue and intends to spark the imagination of others.
Polly Dixon has exhibited widely and has works held in collections across the world. She has a background in Mental Health work and facilitates workshops for local mental health organisations as well as producing her own work.
